So, 2025 is already well underway, where did last year go? Looking back at the year just gone, very few of us expected things to pan out how they did.

Yet here we are in 2025, with 2024 giving us significant political shifts across the globe, AI jumping to the forefront of people’s minds, and I’m pretty sure we were supposed to get some interest rate cuts too… For the insurance industry, 2024 saw unprecedented levels of transformational change continue or kick-off.

Driven by opportunity, competitor moves, the need to prepare for the rapidly shifting landscape of tech innovation, AI, industry agnostic customer expectations and regulatory change…It’s an interesting pattern given how most big players have leant into the Agile delivery approach – yet still find it so hard to implement that mindset when it comes to transformations.

It begs a question on what the right approach is? My take is it’s keeping your framework true to the core Agile principles while applying a pragmatic, customer focused, commercial approach to maintain a level of trust and faith from senior leaders in the language and practices they understand. Then in your back pocket having a clear plan on how you take your stakeholders on the journey of prioritised iterative delivery.

Whatever you call your delivery framework or model, the 2 things that will always be the most important are having the right people and truly understanding the work. You need the right people, who can in turn figure out the right work that needs to get done to achieve your outcomes.

Whether it’s 2024, 2025 or 2026 and irrespective of the things that happen (many of which are out of your control), you need to make sure you have the right people around you to deliver the changes you want to make things better.

I’d love to hear what you think the ‘right approach’ is – and if you want to know more about what we do at GiveMore Delivery and how we work.
